This is my red ibis. Do you see the pool of water? It helps keep him standing up.
I can't think of a name for this white ibis. Can you? (Put your ideas in the comments.)
This is Phoenix's macaw that is named America.
This is my macaw that I am still trying to name. So far I've thought of Yellow Leg. I got the style of these names from the Warriors books, if you're interested. If you think of any names, put them in the comments.I'm also trying to name this macaw. This is my favorite one because of all the colors. If you think of any names, put them in the comments. Same with the green-billed toucan down there. I've thought about naming this one Red Tail, but I didn't like that very much, so I thought about Fire Tail instead, or Fire Bird.
This one is Phoenix's. Her name is Precious.
This is the green-billed toucan that I'm trying to name. My hand is in the picture because the toucan doesn't stand up very well.
These are all of our Amazon birds. Maybe they'll have names soon!
I vote for Fire Bird!
ReplyDeleteI love your animals! The Ibises are pretty, but so are the Macaws too.
ReplyDeleteWildfire is a good name (or, if you hate it, then it is a lousy name).
Hmm, let me see...(I am trying to think of other names)...
Bartholomew Albernoss
Beaknose McGuew
Stabby
Chompers
Peg Legs
Feathers
Tuxedo Breath
Nostril Puke
Chauncey
Traveling Chauncey
Isengaard
Blue Beak
Little Scottbeak
I think that Wildfire is a really good name! For some reason I like the names with "fire" in them. Phoenix thinks that Bartholomew Albernoss is a good name though. We also like Isengaard. Hmmm, I should name some of Mom's elves (since they don't have names) with Tuxedo Breath and Nostril Puke.
DeleteGood! that makes me happy. It would be a sad day if no one used the name 'Nostril Puke'. (Seriously, though, I love the name Bartholomew Albernoss. I'm glad Phoenix likes that name.)
DeleteHi Lutece!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like between the two of you, you have an amazon(g)! collection.
Scott listed a whole bunch of cool names but I wanted to add "Flash" to the list. I like the name Flash.
Maybe that's what we will name your cousin if you don't use it for one of your exotic birds. Keep us posted.
Love,
Irena
In my Church ward in America, Sister Frost told us to suggest names for her baby. Most of us suggested Jack, so he would be "Jack Frost." Ha, ha. I like the name Flash though. Or you could name your baby Ichabod.
DeleteIchabod?? Crazy girl....
DeleteYou Irena actually does very much like the name Jack. It's high on our list; for realsies.
You could name some of them after the countries they are found. Last year I actually had a student named Chyna (China) and her sister was named Asia! (The animals are beautiful.)
ReplyDeleteI know a girl named Asia. I like that name. Flash is a good one too, as is Little Scottbeak.
ReplyDeleteHi Lutece,
ReplyDeleteOk...how about these:
Fowlmouth
Fowlplay
Featherbrain
Amos Zone
Ichabod (a good name for an ibis crane who is often in fear or who likes to teach)
Tipsy Sickersea (for the green bill that can't stand by itself ... your dad turns green when he gets sea sick and can't stand up)
For the Macaw
Mac Daddy Macaw (Mr Mac for short)
Des Fondado (for the one with the longest bill)
For the white one: Cinderella, Sir Lances-a-lot (since it looks like it might be fishing with its bill) Snowy ...or Blanco Rupsy (since it has a long bill).. or Princess Teggy Peacebringer (TP for short, and TP is white as is Teg which is fleece) or Ms Pallia Ment which means a white robe.
Gayle says we have to go to bed now.
Love,
Your Grandpa's son and his daughter-in-law who missed you for Thanksgiving this year!
Dear Stephen and Gayle, I think you got the genders completely wrong. The Ibises are boys and the Macaws and Toucans are girls! But I do like Ichabod. (Amos sounds too much like anus.) My mom likes Tipsy Sickersea though.

ReplyDeleteLooks like you have a lot of names to choose from now! I like Fire bird too. I like Scott's suggestion of Chompers too. Asia would be a fitting name!
ReplyDeleteUncle Stephen makes me laugh. I vote for Ichabod!
Kara and Jared went to a nature camp and the exotic bird (maybe a parrot?) made a sound like a pterodactyl. I didn't believe it until I heard it with my own ears!
My favorite bird is the Scarlet Macaw and if I ever own one I might name it Mr. caw caw. (or maybe not.)
Lutece is lucky she has such a FUNNY family.
